Jen Chapin is an American vocalist. She is the daughter of singer-songwriter Harry Chapin and his wife, Sandra Chapin. She also chairs the Board of Directors of World Hunger Year, a charity organization founded by Harry Chapin. She has been compared at times with Laura Nyro, Tori Amos, and Alanis Morissette.[1] Chapin's own website describes her music as "jazz tinged urban folk... incorporating the funk, soul and improvisation of the city".[2]
She studied at Brown University and the Berklee College of Music.
When Chapin tours, she often plays with her husband, bassist Stephen Crump, as well as guitarist Jamie Fox, a group usually billed as the "Jen Chapin Trio" (and described as "a nationally known urban folk group").[3]
She has appeared on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" and has worked with Bruce Springsteen.[4]
Chapin lives in Brooklyn, New York with her husband and bassist Stephen Crump and their sons Maceo and Van.
